The planned works to the large Oak Tree on the Recreation Ground have been booked for the 18th to the 20th February. There will be traffic lights in Udimore Road while this is carried out, and the footpath on the Recreation Ground side will be closed for a short length, please cross to the other side of the road.
This tree is being felled due to severe decay and is a health and safety concern due to its proximity to the school, the recreation ground and a busy road. Full bat surveys are being carried out and ecologists will be on site to advise during the works.
