Following some in depth surveys on three trees on the Recreation Ground, the Parish Council had to make some difficult decisions at its Extra-Ordinary meeting on the 15th January.
It is with regret that we must announce that the large oak tree at the Recreation Ground entrance will have to be taken down for safety reasons, due to severe decay in the trunk.
A further oak on the left hand side will be made into a monolith, a habitat for wildlife, for the same reasons, due to some decay in the trunk.
A third tree has a divided trunk, and will need to be reduced in size and have a brace fitted.
Further details and pictures of the affected trees are on all the Council noticeboards. If you have any further questions please contact the clerk, Tracy Dixon, or speak to Cllr Duffield who will be at the Farmers market on Fridays 24th and 31st January,
